I am planning on building a wall for my daily driver. I want to put in a camara and small enough monitor so that I can put it where the rear view mirror went. Does any body have experiance with this and know where I can get a good deal. I can find a camara for cheap but dont know if they will perform good enough.

Try an RV place for equipment. My neighbour has one in his bus conversion RV.
