Which would get louder? I was told that when speakers fire towards you, it looses alot of its potential. I'm thinking this is with sealed boxes, and not true for ported boxes.
I have a 91 mustang CONVERTIBLE. I think this will play a major factor because my roof is hardly anything to begin with, so it will not redirect sound like a normal roof... and when its down it will not redirect any sound at all.
Small ass trunk.
The box in the trunk would be seald and the box on teh back seat would be ported firing forward.
What would you do?

If it's anything like my sister's drop top Camaro, I think it would be better to put it where the back seat is. In her's, there's no real opening from the trunk into the front of the car. Even less when the top is down. So if she put a system in the trunk and cruises with the top down, she wouldn't be hearing much except trunk rattle. Besides all that, there is almost no space in her trunk. To top it all off, you are asking about sealed in the (less than ideal) trunk or ported in the back seat area. I've got to go with the latter if you don't need the seating, and if it's like my sister's, only 6-year-old amputees can fit in the back anyway. One thing to consider, though, is if it's in the back seat, it will be relatively easy to steal. Knife through the roof and.....

Run into a bolted down box, where the bolts holding the box are only accessable after taking the sub out. The sub will be installed with screws from tamperproof, inc. You need to purchase teh screws and the drivers for the screws from them.
I appricate your reply.

They could still cause expensive damage before figuring that out. Also, if they can't get what they want, they will likely make sure it's useless before the give up. A friend had 4 15s in a big box. It wasn't bolted down, but the theives were unable to get the subs because it was midday on a college campus and, like I said, it was 4 15s in a huge box. Since they couldn't get the subs, they stabbed them all. They also took the HU, CDs, and both amps. Besides just making sure you don't lose the equipment, you should focus on not attracting unwanted attention. Just trying to help
My sis wants me to make her a box for her Camaro for 1 12. I really don't want to mess with it until I can try fiberglass because there's just not much room to work with back there.
