Ok..I threw my box in the car...an ghetto rigged my amp in to see what it sounded like...2 12"type r's off of a Kenwood KAC929....I measured 60.2 VAC at 46 hz...and I have the subs wired to give the amp a 1.8 ohm load.

How much does the load change at diff frequencies..and what would be your best guess as to what power I was putting to them ( my amp clamp didnt want to pick up ac current [Frown] )

the amp is rated at 450 X 1 @ 4 ohms...and I have it at less than 2 [Wink]

The two measurements that you need to make to figure out both the Resistance (impedance) rise and the 'actual' power output of your amplifier are:

At your given max volume (the one used for SPL burps) and with your given test tone 46hz in your case...

Measure the VAC output across your speaker wires (60.2v AC)
Measure the AC amperage on the speaker output (just use one wire IE +pos)
*this is usually done with a clamp on AC ammeter which clamps around the wire and tells how much current flow you have. It's best NOT to put a normal multimetre in line and do this as you'll fry it and possibly damage your Amp too!!!

Once you know the VAC and AAC then you can use the following formula:

Power Output:
P = VAC x AAC

Resistance Rise:
R = AAC / VAC

Hope this helps?!? Now the hard part... Finding a Clamp on AC Ammeter [Confused]

No problem. Good luck with it all because now the REAL fun begins LOL

Trying to match your resistance rise with the resonant frequency of the vehicle and also get the box tuning to suit without disrupting your resistance rise LOL

All Good Fun!!!
