How do car sterio magazines test amps. What process do they do. eg. measure voltage than figure out power from that.
Not just magazines anybody, I hear people saying that they tested amps before and they had to take them apart, why. Has anyone tested an orion hcca 275r amp.

manufacturers and test labs, including magazines use resistors to test amplifiers, and test tones(sine waves). Not speakers (reactive load) or music (very complex sine waves). So you can NEVER tell how any amplifier will sound like with any speaker.
I don't listen to test tones, and I can't hear resistors.
