To truly DAMPEN your vehicle, I suggest you run it through a car wash with the windows down. The best way to DAMP a vehicle would be to strip the interior of all carpeting, seats, door panels, headliners, plastic trim pieces, everything that can come out should come out, then apply 2 or 3 layers of a dynamat sheet type product on all the flat areas. I would use 4 layers on the firewall. I would use a spray type product in the inaccessible areas of the doors, kickpanels, and wherever else you cannot easily reach. I would then stuff some small bags with fiberglass insulation and seal it, using the heating element thingy used for just that purpose, and stuff it everywhere there is airspace behind panels. Then, I'd start reinstalling all the plastic panels, lining the backside wherever I could with trunk liner material, to help keep them from squeeking. After you've done all this, you should have one damn quiet interior. Oh yeah, you should try to get damping material way up on the firewall, like maybe take the dash loose so you can get all the way up to the windshield.

If it dont fit, force it... if it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyway...
