I have just installed a Rockford Fosgate 200a4, running 4 5.25" eclipse integrated series coaxials at 4ohm stereo. However i am still waiting on one RCA cable from an online dealer, so temporarily i have installed it with the RCA cable i have going from the front outputs of my deck to the front inputs and the amp is set on 2chan. input. Is there anything wrong with this setup, because for some reason with the volume set at 20/40 it seems softer then my deck amp, but it does get pretty loud at 34/40...when i set the gains i set them with the deck at 36/40...according to the birth sheet the amp makes 376watts at 2ohm stereo, so i guess that translates to 47wattsx4 at 4ohm stereo..
btw. my deck is a panasonic dfx-85 with 4v preouts

I am not too familiar with that amp, however here are a couple ideas.

Did you set your gains? If not, then the amplifier will not produce the maximum possible unclipped power, even with a 4v deck.

Another quick solution would be to use Y-splitters on the RCA line and to use the amp in 4 channel input mode.

Also, consult your owners manual. Is 2 channel input only for bridged mono mode or is it a workable four channel method?

i did set the gains...at 90% deck volume

i checked my manual, and the setup i have used is NOT in it, however there is a similar setup, where it is 2 chan. input and two channels running mids and the other two bridged to a sub.

The Punch amps are able to take a ingle input and run all 4 channels the way you describe.
I would suggest resetting your gains.

my gains are set so that when i hit 36/40 on my deck it starts to clip...

should i crank the gains further?

will adding the RCA and putting it on 4 chan mode give me more le-way for the gains?

What are you running with your deck??? I have a 600a4 and I tried this setup and found no differance in volume from 2-4 channel operation... Look in the front of your manual at page 2, at the bottom it tells you that the 2-4 channel operation is to eliminate "Y" adapters... So you will have to adjust gains until you are satisfied with the sound... I also suggest using the Highpass crossover to cut low frequency if you are not already, its not to bad in these RF amps...
