does anyone know the MAXIMUM amperage that can flow through a 12 gauge wire before it fizzles? -------------------- TEAM ShOcKeR 12" ShOcKeR SIG PA A3000DB @ .7ohm

it depends who makes it. Stinger, as far as i know, manufacturer's the best wire around. I had a 0 gauge wire that was by audiopipe. The 0 gauge Stinger sells can carry more amperage than what my audiopipe 0 gauge could and for an additional 5 feet as well. Contact the manufacturer and ask them. -------------------- Competition stats so far from Audio To Go as of 2004- (Sean Madison)- http://www.audiotogo.net/splhistory.php

Just under 20 amps continuous. The surge current is tremendous, as only heat can destroy the wire. BTW, 12 gauge copper is 12 gauge copper. Without supercooling the wire, it's hard to get the resistance to change much.
