...would it be possible for me to repair it? It's an Audiobahn ALUM12. I have separated the surround from the basket/frame. The spider is still connected to the cone. But the problem lies with the voice coil (of course).

The voice coil Kapton voice coil former is ripped all the way accross. However, it's only ripped above the voice coil windings. Also, the 4 windings that terminate to the binding posts (dual voice coil sub) are popped.

So can I just solder the voice coil former back together in as many places as possible? Should I also add some sort of adhesive over the soldering points to give added stability? I imagine this would have to be a very similar adhesive to that holding the spider and voice coil to the cone, huh?

Also, can I just solder the 4 wires of the voice coil back together? When I place the two pieces of the Kapton voice coil former back together, I can kinda see which wires from the top piece of the VC former are supposed to be connected to the bottom piece of the VC former.

Anybody have a clue as to what I'm talking about? I think I'm going to double post this in the Subs and Enclosures section as well.
