i have 8 batteries.. one in the front of the suv hooked up to a fuse less than a foot away from the battery using 0 gauge...

then 0 gauge all the way to the back of the suv where it meets another 7 other batteries.

from there i use 4 gauge from each battery going to two 1200 watt amps at a total of 14 amps but no fuse inline on them.

i have in the past used fuses inline between amps and bats and never once blew one .so i was thinking i could get away without them there ...

should i put fuses inline ?
also with all these batteries am i really goin to have up grade my battery and should i use a cap ?
any and all suggestions will be appreciated.

?? A cap Is not worth the time and money with that many batteries.

What do you mean by upgrade? Do you mean Alt?

A battery = 1 Farad cap X (infinaty)

since your already in super street/extream Just go with more batteries or a higher alt.

mine goes: front batt->fuse->200amp solinoid->back->fuses before and after 2 rear batteries
-the reason fusing is a good idea is so the power wire does not burn up under the carpet or panels if a surge or problem does occur. between batteries, I also have never blown a fuse, but it is better to spend the money than buy a new car if it burns up. A HO alternator would be a good idea!
