I've been thinking about this, and can't seem to arive at an answer. Is a free-er traveling vented sub, with less power (to prevent over-traveling), or a sealed sub with more power (due to controlled cone movement) louder? I'm throwing sound-quality aside, and just focusing on pure decibals here.
I've got an idea for a limited-excursion sealed box, but don't know if it's a reasonable design. Thanks a lot,
