What is this dual gap stuff that orion has used on the h2. Is it the same idea as the alumpro m-16? or somthing totaly different?

where did you read that the new orions use a dual gap motor topology?

EDIT: nevermind.....i checked out Orion's website...duh! hehe

if it's similar to the old Kenwood and //Alpine then it's two mag one inside the VC and one outside. if it's not then I would wait till they come out

Don't forget your gap is now 2* as wide... field strength decreases.

You could run a narrower voice coil, giving more surface area, and hence more cooling, but you still have the minimum set by the former and wire diameter.

Not a bad idea, we'll see how the implementation goes.
