I emailed rockford.com about the 1100a2 and they said in a direct short-scenario each amp will draw as high as 200amps. what exactly does he mean by a direct short-short scenario?

A direct short scenario is when you play and amplifier into a load of less that 1/4 of an ohm (usually just connect the terminals together with wire.)

It is the maximum output, amp-killing situation.
