BMW's 3 channel diversity FM reception with aftermarket head unit?
I've heard that many aftermarket head unit installs in BMW 3-series have resulted in poor FM radio reception. BMW uses interior three antenna which I believe are mounted on the rear and front windows.
The poor reception is because of BMW's 3-channel FM diversity antenna feature which is used in the 3-series.
Has anyone been able to do anything about the poor reception after an aftermarket headunit install? Have you been abled to add an aftermarket stereo while still keeping factory FM diversity antenna feature?
I have a Pioneer Premier DEH-P900 which I'm going to install in my car. I've heard that Scosche Industries sells an antenna BMW/VW amplifer adapter but wouldn't that just amplify the poor FM reception coming through one of the 3 antennas which the head unit will be using?
In summary, how can I keep the factory's 3-channel FM diversity antenna feature with an aftermarket headunit?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't PAC or someone use to make a divisity box?
Anyway, does the car have 2 or 3 antenna leads? If it only has one, does it have 3 or more pins or connectors?
You may be able to separate one of the 3 antennae.... More than likely, all those problems are caused by 3 antennae in the same vicinity and the radio not being able to choose the best of the 3 signals (which is what diversity does).
