I was referred to you guys by "Deaf" in Car Audio Chat. He said one of you might be able to help me figure out a good place to buy a 6oouf and 1.27mh choke. Also I would like to know what volt they should be if I have a 40watt system. See the problem is I haven't been able to find those values at radio shack or any other place I have looked. What would you suggest that I do?

Inductors (chokes) should be bought from www.northcreekmusic.com because they'll wind inductors from bigger than 20 awg crap wire that most places make them from.. You can get zen harmon and crescendo caps from the same place.. Can you print boards or are you directly wiring?
Capacitors can be get in larger values by parralelling smaller values. DOnt series wire caps because this reduces capacitance and increases negative effects from capacitor ESR

For 40 watts (assuming a 4ohm load) the cap should be over 50V, and the inductor should be made of at least 20 gauge wire. You won't hurt anything by using a higher voltage rating or larger wire, it will just cost more.
Can I ask where you got the values, and what this is for? The values of 1.27 and 600uF don't seem right to me. That capacitance is huge, I haven't seen many caps for crossovers over 200uF. I can see instances where the 600uF might be necessary, but then the value of 1.27 doesn't make sense to me.

I will concur.. Those are HUGE values for crossover, especially the caps.. You're almost up to a millifarad, and thats ridiculous... What are you crossing over?

well it gets kinda hard to explain. First of all I have 6spk all coming off a 4ch amp.I'm running my comp off the front ch on high pass and a pair of 6x9's and 63/4 subs at full range on my rear ch. I like to let the 6 3/4 subbs recieve just the lows. The frequency rating for the the subs are between 30 and 500htz. I was wanting to cross them over at about 500 and down. I found the values on a web page called basic car audio electronics . Also bought the pair of subs trough crutchfield and thats what their tech told me. But he said just to get 1.27mh. They are kicker resolutions rmb6 and their manual also has the same type of values for a passive crossover.
Thanks again for the input.
