To start I've got a set of Image Dynamics 5.25 chameleon components in a set of kickpannels that I constructed. I haven't measured the internal volume but would estimate .2-.4 ft^3. They are not perfectly sealed because of the hole I put in for the wire which is about an 1" in diameter. They set up a wonderful stage that is both high and accurate, and does a decent job on width. The bass is great and the highs although a bit harsh are good. However in the midrange(male vocals/acoustic guitar)sounds, the sound is not as crisp as it could be. The sounds kind of resonate causing a peak which causes them to kind of blend together and not sound as good as they could. I changed the x-over on the amp I'm testing them with(US Amps 200x) from full to high pass which helped some. Just wondering what I could do to further eliminate the problem before EQing. thanks alot-Tim

In my experience reflectuions are a common cause of this. Are your tweeters in the kicks as well or did you mount them elsewhere?

Good description btw!

I did the coax mounting on the components since I drive a truck and was very limited on room. I am adding another set of tweets in the a-pillars on very low power so I can have a higher stage on the left and right. I'm now thinking that it is reflection inside the pods and am going to try to add something to get rid of that problem. Thanks for the help-Tim
