what is the point of tuning a ported enclosure to any specific frequency if you dont know the res. freq. of your cabin? cuz you are SUPPOSED to tune then in correlation with their peaks and shït ya know....
is it that important that i measure the res. freq of my cabin so i can get the most out of the tuning of the port???

The tuning frequency is important no matter what your resonant frequency is.
Proper tuning of a ported enclosure can allow the best possible response from your enclosure/speaker combination.
The resonant frequency is important when your goal is to maximize your SPL.
Once you've properly mapped the resonant properties of your vehicle, tuning your enclosure to a frequency that will make the best use of the vehicle as an extension of the enclosure/speaker output response.
Typically the enclosure/speaker combination is tuned to a frequency that is 7 to 10Hz lower than the peak resonant frequency of the vehicle, allowing the natural response characteristics of the vehicle to increase upon the enclosure's output.
