I first had my DD 9512d in the trunk sitting against the back of the rear seat and the bass sounded great. Today I moved it to the front of the trunk, still facing forward. The bass sounds pretty good on hip-hop, but with techno songs (in this case, Darude's "Sandstorm") it sounds boomy when it sounded punchy before. It is not the SQ or tuning of the sub as it sounded just fine before. Should I turn the crossover down maybe (maybe the sub is playing the upper bass frequencies when it shouldn't?)? Any other suggestions? Thanks.

Sounds like the indirect wave is lagging a little.
You need to get the direct and indirect waves perfectly aligned for the best response.
Move it back where it was and face it into the rear of the car.

Facing the rear? It was before and still is now, if you mean facing away from the cabin.
