$360? I haven't seen one for less than $700. Where'd you see it at? Just like anything else, prices will eventually come down on burners & blank DVD's. Right now the blanks are pricey too.

I'm pretty sure if you want to to burn DVD movies, and such you would need to chip your player.

if you mean coping dvds that is possible there are dvd-rips which are mpeg format and work in vcd players, dc's, and pc's there are also dvd silvers which is a real dvd with all the options and everything. As for the machines yes they do cost around $600 but if your smart like me I just buy the copies for like 5 bucks each

Are you buyin DVD siler copies for $5, LMK.
I can get and do the DVD rips myself, but then it would defeat the purpose of watching a DVD.

well you have to have a DVD player that can read the burnt DVDs and then decide what format DVD-R/RW or+RW

they are called DVD-RAM and they are like 20$ a disk at OfficeMax(which is where I work). You can get them LOTS cheaper on the net... and buy them in bulk... you will use em...
Also, you better have a pretty big comp to hold the DVDs....
