In an electrical system with multiple batteries, where exactly do you use circuit breakers and fuses? At the main battery under the hood? at the last battery? can you put a fuse on each battery?

If your front battery will be connected to the rear through a long cable, definitely fuse it right after coming off the front AND right before going into the rear, so that if a short should occur anywhere along that cable, the fuses will blow, instead of the batteries exploding. If your running multiple batteries in the rear, and they are close to one another, you don't have to fuse each one, but if you have two in the rear ( one on each side of the trunk for example) then they should both be fused. Any time there's a long run of cable, it's a good idea to be safe, instead of sorry!
