I'm looking for some passive crossover design software for my next speaker project. I'm looking for something that can import actual impedance curves to design the filters. Anybody know of anything that fits the bill.

Depends on how much money you have, JC..

Filtershop (www.linearx.com ) or the lite version would probably do anything you could ever want. Built-in circuit emulator, too, I believe.

I want that program sooooooooo bad.

For the very little use it would get I don't want to spend much. It would be nice to be able to directly import the impedance graph from my LinearX though

What linearx item do you have that can do impedance curves? is it the LMS?

I have the PCRta, not the best for measuring impedance, but better than using a fixed value

Call madisound- give them your data and ask them to generate an optimized filter for you.. It'll cost you some moola, but less than buying software (a LOT less ) and you'll get good results.

That is probably what I am going to do, but I really like to do it myself and basically wanted something to play with. The other problem is that I don't know if the speakers I am going to use are carried by Madisound, so how wel they know them will be in question.

Yeah, but if you send them your data (you'll have to measure the drivers, but you said you could do that) I'm sure they'll import the data and run from there.. Should work just as well.. But I definately understand wanting to do it yourself.
