Hey I am doing a bit of research and was wondering if anyone on here has a general idea of the operating temperatures for some of the large SPL type subs(DD 95 series, etc) Any help is appreciated, and I am not looking for any exact numbers, just a guestimate! Thanks

Well.. Do you mean general street boom, or when SPL'ing? I'd guess reasonable operating temp would be 100-200 degrees celsius?

Leap software uses the rule that voice coils blow at 250C, or to be more exact, that is the temp at the speakers max power rating.

Right- 250 is about the temperature where copper starts softening, I believe?

Anyone know what 250C is in Farhenheit?

250 degrees celsius is 482 degrees farenheit.
