any one had any experience with this vehicle yet?
My girl wen to get the harness and mounting kit so i could put her deck in, and circuit city said they wouldn't even touch that car, and they didn't have the harness or the bracket for it. All of it had to be special ordered.
they also said something about it being hooked up to the brain box on the car. The only thing i could think of that would be hooked into the brain would be the speed control volume.

Yeah, the new cavaliers have the same thing as well, I believe, because the stereo controls the onstar thing and all that, so you have to install a new deck but leave the old one still hooked up in the car.
Wierdness abounds these days.

gotta put it in the trunk. or find some place to hide it. I don't know how big your glove box is but I'm thinking about putting it there. total pain in the ass but from what I heard from the installer that did it and gm it was necessary. harness for my cavy was 90 bucks

From what I've been told by some installers is along the smae lines as to what you've already heard from the others here. I think the problem you run into is that the ECU loops some info through the radio such as airbags and the VSS (Vehicle Speed Seonsor) I don't necessarily know why they do this but I think what everyone here is suggestiong for you is valid. Hide the thing somewhere and move on with your install.
