My dad and i have checked AND ran new wiring to my head unit AND speakers. I get full power but no sound. I took the CD player back and they hooked it up and it ran just fine. This is not in the Accord this is in a 1990 Toyota pickup with a 3.0 V6. Please help I have gone a couple weeks now with no music. I tried hooking a brand new wire directly from the player, which is a kenwood kdc 1116s and got nothing tried gounding it directly to the battery and got nothing. I can do everything the player should do. I ran ALL new speaker wires directly to the speakers from the HU. I have stumped myself, my dad, and one of the smarter car stereo guys in my town. I HATE THIS
I am running the speakers from my HU. I tested the speakers in my room and they run just fine. The ONLY thing I can think of is that the guys that sold it to me had a setup that put sound out even if the player couldn'[d put sound out, cause they turned the tuner on and it had perfect reception on that station.

Check the voltage on the speaker output leads with an AC multimeter when playing a CD to make sure you're getting some signal. If you are NOT getting signal, but the deck is powered... Yikes.
If you ARE getting signal, then its your wiring, somewhere.

make sure that none of the speaker wires are either touching each other or touching metal. first, unhook all of your speakers. then, at the radio harness, hook up a speaker to each channel of output. while you are doing this make sure that none of the other three channels are hooked up as well as the + and - leads aren't touching. also, do you have an amp hooked up to subs or anything? let me know what you find out. be sure that all of the outputs are unhooked before you do this. also be sure that you only take one speaker as a "test" speaker and hook that speaker directly to the back of the radio, not where you have run the wire.

sorry, i didn't read where you have an amp kit. try unhooking the rca's when you are doing the testing. if you have sound at the radio without the rca's hooked up, try hooking one channel up and then plugging the rca's in. i have had radios cut out when you hook up the rca's in the back. in fact, just had one last week. good luck.

The multimeter should be set to (ACV) meaning AC volts.
The positive lead should be connected to the positive of the speaker output from the deck OR attached to the + speaker terminal along with the speaker wire. The negative should be likewise connected to the -.
When you turn the deck on with everything plugged in, turn it up, you should get somewhere between 3-12v of AC.
If you have 3-12v coming out of the speaker leads right next to the deck but you don't have 3-12v when you attach it to the speaker terminals, you've got a bad connection somewhere.
Post this in troubleshooting if you have any more trouble and we'll get ya going.
