Now I have heard it all. I have been and built three sub enclosures for years with no dividers and no problems. Te worst part is the guy who says it won't work is a SALES manager!!!

Bull****, that is my take on it. Just as it states, when two woofers share the same space, their Vas as a couple is doubled, making a sealed enclosure of the same Qtc double the size. Besides the two references mentioned on that forum, the Loudspeaker Design Cookbook has a short section on compound setups. True, with the divider the enclosure will flex less, but sometimes that divider will take up valuable space that could otherwise be used to obtain a suitable Q. A shelf brace in the middle would give the best of both worlds. Bottom line, the guy doesn't have a clue, you read his lousy response to their tech talk.
