Ok, this might be off the wall a little bit but I have been thinking a lot about this lately(gone to college so now all I do is think.)
Would the altitude you live in, affect the spl your vehicle can produce. I've been noticing this year that all the higher spl vehicles are coming from down south mainly. We dont have a single vehicle up here doing over 152. We've got some pretty sweet rides etc. that just can't pound. The highest was the 152 by some guy from the twin cities that had 6 15" RF power DVCs and 3 power 1100s.
But where i'm going with this is just that no one up in the north is hitting worth crap. is it the altitude or just that no one up here knows what they're doing? I mean my install should be capable of doing 150s and is only pulling 147, 148.

Can someone shed some light on this?

Its not whether ou get knocked down. It's whether you get up again.

Always seems like the South and, especially, the South East is way more intense in all sound competitions. Strange.

I suppose the high humidities down there might make a difference, but maybe only a couple decimal points....

You're partly right..The high humidity is what makes some of the guys down here CRAZY enough to do some of the stuff they do

I had though in the past cool dry air not moist air brings the high SPL numbers.

Cool, dense air is definitly a better medium for propagating waves, so high altitude and high tempertures would have a small effect
