i have an alpine head unit and 2 hi-fonics amps. when i start up the car my cd player turns on it plays the cd and radio but it dosnt always send the signel for my amps to turn on it dosnt always happen thoguh, i re-wired them and tried again but no luck it will not only not turn on all the time but sometimes when im driving along they'll shut off cd player still on and working minde u but no amps. so I stoped and disconnected the wire from my cd player and touched it to the switched power off of my ignition the amps turned on just fine and as soon as i pluged it back into the cd player they turned off again can anyone help me?

Have you tried a relay? I'd wire a relay in, and have it's output connected to your main fused line...

Did you try the relay? If you need a diagram on how to wire it let me know? This should solve the problem. Sounds like the alpine is not puting out enough current to keep the amps on? Has the turnon lead ever gone to ground?

yes i suppose that i would need a diagram cuz i dont know what a relay is. I did re-wired my amps to the switched power form my ignishin so right now it seems to be working, is that ok, it wont mess anything up will it?

Use the remote wire as a trigger for a relay to power your accessories remotes. You can get a relay at any car audio shop or radio shack for around 1.50. Look at the bottom side of the relay and you will see the numbered poles. Run your wires to the poles as numbered below. You will no need the center pole which is 87a. If you need any further help let me know via email it is much easier to understand once you go out and buy the relay.

RELAY WIRING
86 = - ground
85 = + remote from headunit
30 = + fused constant 12 volts
87 = output to amps remoted input or other items

instea of using your hu's remote output, wire the amps remote into an ignition switched fuse...i run 2 neons a 110watt power inverter and 2 amps off my remote wire...
