Ok, I know that the "ideal" speaker would have an impulse response of, well, an impulse. But speakers being the imperfect devices that they are, have all kinds of blips and curves showing up in waterfall plots.
So can someone explain how to read a waterfall plot? Some specific questions I have are: what is an acceptable decay time for a {tweeter, midrange, midbass, sub}, and how are imperfections in the waterfall plot such as certain frequencies not decaying as fast as others perceived by our ears?

When I look at a waterfall plot, I usually use a reference that I have heard before. For example, with tweets, I use the Seas 881 waterfall plot (www.seas.no).
