Not sure, but it could be that the CD is unreadable. Meaning it's scratched or there is too much dust on it.

My clarion is several years old and has been submerged so its no wonder that I get that error 6 sometimes too. The manual says that error 6 means that the CD is loaded upside down.

Is the Cd a store bought Cd or a recorded Cd?
My 7575 does that to me with some of the recordable cd's that my friends burn etc.. depending on the brand... ie.. it won't read most memorex's. Just a thought so that may be the problem.. or you could be scratched or have dirt in the head unit.. etc.

I have the Clarion 8675z and changer. I get an error 6 when I put a disk backwards in the changer. Have never put one in the head unit upside down, so I am not positive, but I will have my wife drive the truck and she will find out.

On my 7375 and the 9575 "error 6" means the lazer cannot read the control track... it wont always happen. Sometimes it is a slight misalignment in the mechanism... it should clear if you eject the cd and reinsert it (unless the cd is really scratched).

Try reseting it. It helped my DXZ715. It was giving me alot of error 6's and end even a few error 3's. I think all it means is it can't read it. How the hell would it really know if it was upside down? That was probably just from the trouble shooting chart.
