I was wondering if you could help me out with your opinions. I am putting a computer in my trunk, and I will have a lot of wires running from the trunk up to the front: SCSI wire, vga wire, printer wire (for 40x4 lcd), remote turn-on wire, amp power wire, and the wires that go to the ac/heating controls (they're being moved to the trunk and controlled via servos & the computer). Think all of this can be run from the front to the trunk without any problems in a 2001 Grand Am GT? Thanks for any help

My second question has been answered by a few people and the outlook is positive. Do you think it's possible for me to move my ac/heating controls to the back to mount in my pc box just as they appear up front (could i extend the wires all the way to the trunk w/ no problems)?

I don't think there are too many high current wires in the heater/AC controller so extending them shouldn't be a problem. I would use at least the same gauge if not jump up a gauge or two to be on the safe side. When extending wires, take time to have good solid connetcions, properly protect the wires and connections, and route them neatly and make notes of wire colors and so forth to make any trouble shooting easier. It is not fun to troubleshoot a bundle of 20 some wires that someone did poorly in all black conductors.
The other wires I don't see any reason there would be problems.

Most of the climate control centres in GM cars are controlled either by vacuum or cable actuator. If they are vacuum they should be easy to extend and there will be no diminished control. If they are cable actuators you will have a VERY difficult time extending them and I would recommend using servos in the dash to manipulater the cables.
The only thing in the cluster that has electrical wires is the fan speed control and light.

have fun

If you need to extend cables look for some good mountain biking ones that can be cut to size. Shimano XTR and Clarke PTFE coated ones are good.
