Whats up guys. I just installed my pioneer indash screen, the pioneer avxp7000cd and its multimedia controller the p7000r. Everything is installed perfect except for that blue wire that says "brake" on it. I tried putting it on a constant so i could keep the video screen on while the truck is running, but it doesnt work. Anyone try this? What do I hook this wire up to to make it think its on the brake and engaged? I have a 99 dodge dakota if this helps anyone. Thanks for the input!

I'm not familiar w/the unit, but the brake wire is typically supposed to be hooked up to the parking brake because of the legal issues w/watching tv while driving, and it's something you should hookup to the brake; I don't know if they give tickets for that sort of thing, but this would be a way to keep you from getting one.

parking brakes usually use a switched ground when set(test yours to make sure), so I'm imagining that your little blue brake wire is looking for a ground(look in the manual to make sure). Wire it to your parking brake, and set yourself up a little hidden switch that will simulate the parking brake being set. be sure to diode isolate it to keep the car from thinking the parking brake is set.

All you do is this:
1. Buy a toggle switch
2. Attach the blue e-brake wire to one side of the toggle.
3. Take some spare wire and attach it to the opposite side of the toggle.
4. Ground that spare wire.
5. Flip the toggle switch
6. Enjoy!!!!
