My problem is I have an older Rockford Fosgate punch pro series 8ohm sub. I cant find another to match up with it. So is there any way I can use this speaker effectively. Hopefully by reducing it to 4 ohms without another speaker?

Depending on which amp you're running, you could use an accumatch to lower the impedence, but the cost of the accumatch would be more than two entry level subs ($240 retail).

Just use it. You most likely won't be able to tell. I've yet to see anyone who could.
