how are you going to get the amps to a 1ohm load when you have 4amps and 2 dual 1ohm subs?
thats 2amps/sub.
which is either a 2ohm or 1/2ohm load on the amp?
or did you mean 4amps/sub?

I have not done it, but have been told by a reliable source it can be done for burps. You should have at least one extra battery for each amp. I think Earthquake recommends 2 per amp.

Here is a quote from Car Audio And Electronics. February 1999.
“Delivering full power of 1,600 watts, the D2 drew 152 amperes.”

I believe that was at the rated 2 ohms though.

The older 200DHCs came with internal 20 amp fuses. If the newer D2s have 20s, they'll have to be upgraded to 30+ amp fuses. Call earthquake and ask them what fuse the D2s have

You can run them at 1ohm for burps ONLY. HAVE to have at LEAST 12.8-14.4volts constant. Quote from Earthquake.=) Peace!!!

we run our d2's at .8 ohm for daily driving..but u have to change from an internal 20 to a 30...I havn't noticed any problems with the .8 load..currently mine is a daily driver and i have 2 balls 15"(dual 3.3 ohm) in parallel (.8 load)and have no heat problems or shut down problems..this has been running like this for...ohhh...8 months..Abraham at Quake told me it was ok..so...try it!!!

You can up the voltage rails (larger) and the VA stage to get more voltage gain.. Its hella stress on the amplifier, not too easy to do.. As for using bigger transistors and/or bigger transformers, its a load of bunk, the amplifier retains its gain structure and doesn't do any more power, even though it COULD.

Still looking for that CHEAP Thunderdome :D

If the sub moves, use it. If the tweet's metal, lose it.
