ok heres my question. how would u figure out what impedence your amp is at when your playing a test tone of say uhh 58 hz????
the impedence will vary even with a test tone of 58 hz. I know that a woofer is rated at a certain ohm, but when u put signal into the amp and it puts out signal the impedence changes. so thats my question , How do u find out what the load is on a amp at a given frequincy????

to find the imp. at a given freq. you need to first play the test tone and check the AC voltage going to the driver. Then, without changing volume, track, or anything else, hook up your DMM inline with the driver(unhook the + speaker wire from the amp and run the meter from the amp to the speaker wire, like a jumper) Set the meter to AC current Max setting (you will have to move the + lead on the meter to a diff. position for this, usually a 20A fused setting or about that) With all the settings the same as before, read you AC current.

Now plug the information into ohms law.

Resistance=Voltage/current

Example 41.9VAC and 20.32 Amps of draw at 58 hz.

41.9/20.32=2.06 ohms at that freq.
