Ok this is what I want to do. I am going to have four Zapco Studio 500 amps in my current install (have three need a 4th, if you know where I can get one let me know ). What I would like to do is have one for the front stage, one for midbass's and one on each sub. At least for normal listening. I want to make a semi complex circuit of relay's to make it so I can switch it so all four amps are powering the subs for dB Drag's. The subs are dual 2ohm 9515s. I would make it so when driven with a single amp it would see a 4ohm load and when switched to "Drag" mode run one per coil 2ohm load. To do this without having to physically unplug wires I am going to have to put a relay inline with the speaker wire and rca cables. I don't see any problems with the speaker wire part, but what about the rca's? Would their be any problem with noise that would be directly related to putting relays inline with the rca's? Maybe some recommendations on which type of relay's to use? Is this even a reasonable thing to think of doing? I can always make it so I have two sets of rca's and two sets of speaker wires going to each of the two extra amps, but I like the idea of having a switch that does it for me . Let me know what you guys think.

you may have some ground loop problems with them on the RCA's. but this can be worked out with some filtering and different grounding configurations. just make sure that your RCA's ground is not switched under load, i dont think that the amps input stages will take kindly to that.
good luck!

Wasn't planning on switching it while the system was on. Might even make it so it won't work while its on.

BTW, what did you mean by "different grounding configurations"?

Any places online that sell better components than say mcm electronics or radio shack type places? Money isn't an issue, I just want the best quality stuff I can. Maybe someone could even make me a PCB if I gave them the layout?

I could probably make you a processor that would do the audio switching.. maybe incorperate a line driver if you don't have one already..
I could also make you the pc board if you wanted...
email me if interested...
