who do you all think makes better amps? and why? What amount of money around are you paying for each watt for both amps (for example)- Precision Power 1,000 watt amp 50 cents = 1 watt = $500.00
In your opinion what is the best amp money can buy?????

It all depends on what you are looking for the amp to do. If you want a sq vehicle I would n't run MMATS or any other class D amps on my mids annd highs. But for subs I would. PPI just chaged ownership again. From what I understand the owner who was in charge of PPI back in the art series days is back up front now. If so there amps be improving dramatically.

Well, quality as far as board build goes, I think that would have to go to BRAX.. I wonder if tech has had a chance to look at those glorious guts... I read a review of the amp that provided a picture of the board of the 100x2 amp.. WOW.
It it also supposed to have .0002% thd... But thats sick.
The best amplifiers in my opinion are those that use Ricardo Kron's Vacuum Transducers, and those cost more than 100 dollars per watt (seriously, the 300 watt mono amp is 21.5 grand)
But hey, I haven't had a chance to hear them, so.....
Audison, McIntosh are two favorites of mine... They both are superlative products..

for the money I would go with Xtant and you can't use Class D amps above 300Hz if you want to have less than 1% distortion, mine are Linear Power, Adcom, and Zapco

Haven't been into those first couple of amps you mentioned. Mac ,Carver, Hafler etc. represent the best home I've seen. Car, well that is weird. I like one model from one line and another model from another line...

Well I looked into it and discovered that the best amplifier in the world is a straight wire with a gain control in the middle. Is it possible that each amplifier is best for an individual purpose?? Could it possibly be? Hmmmm....

Somebody mentioned McIntosh. I would NEVER buy a McIntosh car amp again. I have 2 of their MC427's and BOTH have broke now. They are about 3 years old. I also have a pair of Precision Power amps and they are just fine after three years. You decide who makes good amps - go figure! My installer says McIntosh amps go bad all the time compared to other ones at the shop they sell.

Its hard to pick the best amp because there are so many good ones now. Maybe ten years ago Rockford, Linear Power, Orion, Soundstream. Now I cant name all of the good amps. But I think the best are the ones that can reproduce clean uncolored music. Something can impress your ears as well as your eyes. *Linear Powers slogan - EAR CANDY!*
