I've got a new project in the works, a line driver/ balanced line converter. I want to know what you think are the best op-amps to use for audio purposes. I would like them in at least dual package if not quad. Please give me full part numbers that you use, as well as cost and suppliers. Thankyouverymuch

Hey JC... BURR BROWN!
opa2134 and opa4134 (dual/quad)
I usually buy from digikey because of the great service to canada.. (delivered in less than 24 hours for 8 bucks) anyways.. you might be able to find them cheaper from another dist.... the Burr brown site gives a list of distributors etc..
hope that helps

Agreed, Burr produces the best IC's like D/A's and VA-OP's IMO.

TL072 and TL074 are cheaper fet/low noise
types you can use for prototype work.
These are good enough to find their way into
many quality amps. So are the TL4559's.
MCM has all kinds of IC's, so does Parts
Express.

For most of my prototype work I use TL074's because I have a bunch left over from my senior project. Since this project is going to be used in my car with a bunch of other high end equipment, I want to use the best components I can get. I do realize that the design and implementation will be more of a factor than the op-amps I use, but the design is simple and I have done enough testing that I feel the better op-amps will be worth it.
