Battery System I will have 8-8 volt Trojan T875 batteries hooked in series paralell to get a 16 volt battery system. Now in order to charge these with a alternator it gets really expensive. This is for SPL only just maybe 5 to 6 1 second bursts. So what i need is a charger so what I was thinking is there is a custom 16 volt charger which was 3000 dollars so **** that. or a 32 volt charger so i can hook a whole bunch in series or I can get a big 12 volt charger for like 400 dollars and put it on high output which is about 16 volts or so. but people keep telling me if i rechrge it a certain way the plates inside teh battery will bend. So I am sick and tired of this.
give me some sort of answer for charging????????????

Here is the problem your going to face. Charging a battery always requires AT LEAST applying 1.5V more than the batteries rated voltage. If you series your batteries together for 16V, you will need to supply at least 17.5+/- volts to even start charging them. I think, if I were you, I'd start looking at an alternative that may or may not work. If done correctly, however, I believe it could work, and work well. Use a relay between each battery to separate them when you are not doing your drag run, then, using a battery isolator and a rectifier, you could simply regulate your vehicles charging system down to the required 9.5 to 10.0 v it'll take to charge those batteries, then, when they're all charged up, you flip a switch that will again connect them all in series or whatever, and again you have 16V of fresh batteries going to your amps. I dont see why it wouldn't work, the regulator may have to pass some major current, but I believe it could all be made to work. I may develope the technology and become a manufacturer!!!!

STILL waiting to hear a GOOD pair of HLCD's!!

If it dont fit, force it... if it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyway...

Umm you are just looking for a way to recharge these batteries? Is that all? Here you can get chargers that will charge them fine for about $80 to $90. Unregulated 200amp start

We have one on 8 8 volts and had the batteries on the charger up to as high as 20.2 or so volts..and off the charger they rest at 17.5 or so
