I am in the middle of spkr repositioning and have the chance to do the following:

A- lengthen the path lengths for the mid/tweets in the kicks.

OR

B- keep them where they are in the kicks and have closer time alignment with the midbass in the lower front of the doors.

I'm thinking the longer path lengths would be the superior way to go.

Any opinions? (only talking about an inch or two move)

I have to agree with you, go for the longer pathlengths. Are those mids in the doors or like small subs? If they're subs, you have nothing to worry about, I doubt seriously you'll notice a time alignment problem from the subs as long as they're up front. If they're mids, you may want to lower they're lowpass point, or lower the highpass point on your other mids to try to pull the image from the other mids...

Do the 8's in the doors, as subs. You wont get as much output from the doors, but that's ok, you got real subs in the back to augment the ones up front. Weld ya some steel boxes in the doors, spent a couple of days knocking down noises in the doors, and enjoy your new 3 way upfront bass in your face system!

i vote longer pathlength, as the midbass will not be likely to have a real time alignment difficulty anyway, and the longer pathlength will help your stage/image anyway :-)

Good Luck!
