First off i should point out this will be my first time fabricating and using carbon fiber or any other composites. Ok, so here is what i am trying to do: I plan to cover some panels and trim pieces with carbon fiber. The trouble is i'm not exactly sure the best way to go about doing this. As for the products i am going to use a 5.7 0z 2x2 twill carbon fiber, 249 clear polyester surfboard resin, surfacing wax to add to the last coat, and lastely i will be clearcoating with wurth high gloss clear lacquer. Will any sanding need to be done?
If anyone has any info or insites i really need the help. Or any step by step processes would be great. Thanks...

I am trying to cover panels and have it turn out as close to this as possible...

I would vacuum bag the parts and when they are cured clear coat them when you are done. If you do this the cosmetic surface will be perfect and ready to clear with no sanding. You can find the stuff to do it where you got your carbon cloth if not then at www.fiberglast.com or www.shopmaninc.com!
