i went to go inspect someone's Visonik 4000XD yesterday and was doin some metering and all that bla bla bla and finally, i got around to checking it with an o-scope.
The o-scope never read right on that amp but read fine on all other amps i got.
I metered it at doing 112v and 11.2A output from speaker leads, 111A draw on power line.
I hooked the o-scope up to it with and without a sub hooked up and it made no difference, the voltage was reading 238mV?!?! and of course that will give weird graphs. Why was it doing that, anybody know? I hooked it back up to my amps to make sure it wasnt messed up and both of my amps registered fine.

you can get an appx with a regular oscope for voltage out, or you can get a digital scope that will tell you the voltage... volt/div then multiply how many div for the normal, never thought i would have to explain that to someone...

The amp wasn't setup with an o-scope previously so i wanted to inspect it to my surprise i couldnt even do that.
You know how when you play a test tone how the graph is steady, constant looking?
Well, it's way outta wack on the visonik. It's never steady, the graph sometimes will be way up top so you can only see the bottom half of the graph and it's not the display settings either, i went through em all.
when you set the gains on the a/b amps, you may of used a tone that was higher. For the D amp, you'll use a lower tone and need to reset the time div.

Yeah ... Coach woulda put me in fourth quarter, we would've been state champions. No doubt. No doubt in my mind. Posts: 831 | From: Valdosta, GA | Registered: May 2004
