Ok I what to use a Wicked one as a sixth order bp The front chamber is about 1.13 cubic feet and I was thinking a 1" by 12" slot port 8" long or 16.5 inch long. The rear chamber has .75 cu ft with that long port. is the front chamber the low or high frequency cutoff.

I believe the rear chamber would be the high tune as it starts off sealed. The throat on the ported side looks to tune the box low. For spl, I have seen a rather large opening used to bring the note up.

this is from http://www.decware.com/whorn.htm .. "A port resonates at a given frequency determined by the length and diameter of the port, while a horn resonates at a HI frequency and a LO frequency and EVERY frequency between the two. For this reason the woofer is dampened at every frequency between LO and HI. That's why it has such phenomenal accuracy, gain, and bandwidth."
On the More Pictures page you'll notice there are pics of a PORTED WO being built. On their forums the ported WO's are SPL monsters, but sound like @$$.
I've got a WO with 12's that's to be metered in May.

the guys on the decware forums talk about ported WO's occasionally. I remember reading about it when I was originally looking into building. db Don's done it, that's how I found this site. I'm not a comptetitor and really like my wo now, it's loud enough for an old guy. I hear ported, they are monsters, good luck!

dkmst23, What box is that in that pic above? It didn't look like any Wicked One I've seen. Is it a half? or your SPL box? On Decware's site, I think Steve recommends to model like a simple 4th order to get the sealed volume, not so much about the throat.
