hi, i just installed a jvc head unit into my 97 altima and its not getting any power i checked all the connections and i cant figure it out, my friend said its because i dont have the antenna hooked up to it. if anyone knows why it wont work, please help me im dying without music

Try grounding the head unit to a 'known' good ground. That's why he may have suggested the antenna, because it is grounded for reception. Even though the harness may have a ground wire to connect to, it may not be adequate for your hu.

have you used a light tester to see if your geting both powe wires? batery and accesory? also check your fuses maybe during the instalation you touched the main batery wire and blew a fuse

Definately make sure to do a ground. alot of nissans dont have a ground wire in the factory wire harness. Like nissan trucks.
