i was wondering how everyone has there amp mounted. right now i only have a small amp sitting in the trunk. but when i get mine back i would like to mount it in a good spot. i used to have it mounted to the back of the sub box. but this was really the only place i had room at the time. it looked crappy and i had wires everywhere with nowhere to put them. but for now i have a smaller box. btw this is in a 93 eclipse. my cousin has the practically the same car and he mounted his in the spare tire well. i really dont want to do that though. how do i go about building an amp rack? how hard is it? btw i'm not really all that great working with wood but i'm sure i can get it done if i get some basic instuctions. or can anyone suggest a good place to mount an amp? thx.

Here's what I've always done with my trunk. It's simple, easy, and it looks fine.

Figure out where you want the amp on the trunk floor. Pull up the carpet. Get a sheet of wood (I used 3/4 MDF but whatever you have lying around would work. You might even want 1/2") slightly larger than the amp and secure it to the trunk floor underneath the carpet. Run your wires under the carpet near the wood, then cut small slits in the carpet for the wires to come up through. Put the carpet down and mount the amp on the wood. The wires will be out of the way. I'll put up some pics later.

i was actually thinking of doing something like that. seems like it would be the easiest solution. how did you secure the wood to the trunk? hopefully i'll have enough room. did you put the amp in front or behind the sub box? im thinking it'll look better in front. so you can see it when you open the trunk.

Thats what I've always done. It seems to work very well. I've never had any problems with it.
