Well I wired 4 gauge wire from positive of battery to positive of alt.. When I was driving my headlights would basically flash... This is way more then before when I did not rewire??? Is the wire not tight??? Should I take the 4 gauge off and run two 8 gauge wires so it could possibly make a better connection then the big 4 gauge?? Or just run one 8 gauge.. Well this help out any??? Thanks for the help guys

so before with the 8gauge it didnt dim as much as the new 4 gauge? odd... well do you have more bass now with that new 4gauge wires? also did you upgrade the amps ground wire and make a good conection to the car? sometimes moving the ground to a diferent spot isnt that great. just gotta play with some stuff.
it may have been that 8gauge not leting the amp get that much power which it wouldnt be able to push the subs as much. ive got 1gauge wire to a cadence a7+hc and alpine amp pushen the highs. so give or take 160amps not exactly sure. but ya lights dim preaty bad at full volume with everything else off. but keeps the batery charged enough to start fine later so no worries.... but it does bog the engine down when acelerating on hard notes...LOL

upgrade the ground wire from the frame to the engine block with the same size wire you used for the alternator to battery connection. Add a 4guage wire from the chassis of the alternator to the frame also. Hopefully that'll help. It worked for me.

I have already did the 4 gauge from battery negative to frame.. That helped out... But when I did from alt positive to battery positive it did not give the results I wanted... It hurt the lights more...But I kind of do think it is louder.. We will see on April 27...I just dont understand why it would hurt it that much.. Could it be putting more strain on the alt???? Im about to run 8 guage from alt to battery... Just leave it as that.. [Frown]

ya if you upgrade the alt wire i dont see how that would hurt anything. something must be wrong. i would think the biger wire would have less resistance so it would be beter
