How much will a voltage drop from 14v to 8v hurt you?? =-) I just got my Ma Audio HK-602SX amp and I love it!! I am in street class and my car has to be off also. (that voltage drop is when the car is on. when off it drops allot lower and faster) will a new batt at least help it not drop so fast? If so what batteries are other people using in the street classes??

thanks

Hmm.... 8 volts + amp = smoke? I would be carefull. Get a good battery like a yellow top and make sure it is charged very good before a run.

That much of a voltage drop will not hurt anything... Your components will shut off and you will kill your battery, otherwise nothing else will happen... [Wink]

it is very unlikely the amp would not shut down way before that (unless it is completely unregulated- it should shut down at about 10.5 volts)...but on the way down, of course the power output would decrease (by how much would depend on the power supply regulation) and so would the efficiency of the amp...
