Got a free Alpine amp. Older, but still looks like its in good condition, all black. All it says is "Alpine 3550 4/3/2 CHANNEL POWER AMPLIFIER." Can someone please tell me what the specs on that amp are? Wattage?, bridgeable?, etc.? Please................?I'll be your best friend!
Thanx,
M@tthew

As long as there ae fuses in the amp you can get your own spec for it. Just keep adding coils in parallel till it shuts off. There is your impedence. Now take a meter and measure output voltage. now you can either use a clamp on meter to find current or use math. (that law by Mr. Ohm will come in handy now) If you use a meter. Then you have voltage, current, impedence, you can find power. You can look to see if it 2 channel or 4 channel and you can see if it has a crossover. If there is no fuse, put one while you are checking these things, just in case But what else do you need. Now that I am your best friend, Can I have the amp! I really do not want to see you injure yourself with an amp you may not know nothing about I am concerned with your safety and by mailing it to me is the only thin I can think of to help a friend out!!

Alpine has never made any real big 4 channel amps. So, you're probably looking at a 25 to 50 watt per channel amp. It will be 2 ohm stable per channel.

Nice little mid amps. Don't try to run subs off it.
