k..a friend of mine (Tint_master) borrowed an Audio Toolbox from a friend he knows at a shop to meter my car after last sundays 2X USAC event in Houma, LA cuz a friend thought my numbers were kinda high and i wanted to see how far off they were.
while metering we used the high SPL mic setting with peak selected. now, there was an option on the top row that could be set to either "hi" or "lo" setting. using the "lo" setting my SPL dropped a couple dB (turns out according to these SPL measurements the mic at the event was about 3.5dB high...so only a 154.7 outlaw, and close to an even 150 legal.).
what's the difference in these settings? does it have to do with some kind of filter? does it "stiffen" the mic up a bit? anyone have an idea?
thanks
