i have this amp running 2 alpine 12" type r's.

could some explain what speaker level input is? the explanation on sounddomain.com is too confusing for me. also, would this amp be too much for my speakers? they are eclipse; 4.5" in front and 5.5" in back.

It means that you can connect the speaker wires that come right out of the head unit to the amp, instead of RCA's
