I'm going to install a 5.25-inch component system in my 2005 Honda Accord. I want to maintain a completely stock look. This means I need to use the stock speaker locations. I know, they aren't "optimum" placement for components, but it's important to me to keep the stock look.
Installing the woofer won't be a challenge. Creating a MDF baffle to fit the woofers in the stock compartments will be easy enough.
The challenge is in reaching the stock tweeter locations. They are placed in a very inconvenient location--right up front next to the A-pillars, hugging the front windshield glass. This front windshield is at a rather steep angle, giving me little room to work.
See the photograph links and you'll understand what I'm talking about. (Sorry about the rain--this is Seattle!)
So I guess my question is, how do I swap these tweeters without having to remove the windshield? Any ideas?

ive never personally replaced the tweeters in an 05 accord but my guess is that thos grills just pop off. a butter knive might wokr well to pop them off... but thn romoving the tweeter itself may proove to be a pain in the a$$. you may need what is called askew driver which is able to remove screws an akward angles... good luck

See how "helpful" your local Honda dealership is. Ask them if you can see the microfisch? picture of the dash, speakers etc.. on their computer screen. This should enable you to see how it's put together, and an idea as to where to start working. I'd say the grilles should pop off with gentle persuasion from a pick. I'd highly recommend NOT using the factory speaker wires, to avoid noise potential, and to increase SQ .

Hey I think that is a canadian thing "microfish"
I assume all the tech sheets are on computer date bases now. That microfish idea is so 80's.

If "Optimum" sound is what your looking to get out of a component set, mounting the tweeter up and away from the woofer(mid-range) will not do it. You need to fabricate a baffle that will incorporate both.
This may involve alittle re-working the stock speaker grills but it'll be the sound your looking for.

If you have a relationship with a local shop (meaning you buy products from there)---go ask them. I'm sure they have done it, or can find out real quick for you.
