well my windshield seal is pretty loose even at low volumes it rattles. and at high volumes it seems like it leave the frame of the car almost 1/2 inch. this is the top of the windsheild my guess is the bottom is attached better and its pivoting on the bottom to allow the top to move.
im sure spl is affected, but sometimes i feel my lows dont have much inpact and just not as loud as it should be.
has anyone had problems like this with older cars having a loose windsheild, im also thinking about replacing it soon, but i dont want it just to pop out again. they say the adheasive they use has like a 500+ psi rating, but i would think the vibrations play more of a role in it coming loose. they also say wait about a week before you play loud music. i know my setup is not near as loud as a lot more people using older cars and stock glass, so my problem should not occure once the glass is replaced, i guess. are replaced glass more likely to come loose, i do know most replacement glass is weaker then oem glass, but that shouldnt matter if it comes loose. sense most front glass is curved levels much under 155 db shouldnt be a problem to braking it.

well i dont think it should be moven that much off the frame! id say someone replaced the windshield before and didnt use the right seal adheasive! those strips of tar stuff dont work that great. but the pros use this like liquid stuff and dries and grabs just as good as original seal. id have it removed and resealed! if its moven that much already then it could crack anytime! and no one likes payen for a new windshield unless they broke it from thier stereo and it was caught on tape.LOL Posts: 4858 | From: indiana | Registered: Apr 2003

A friend's 89 stanza with 2 L7 15"s ported in 8.5 cubes each and around 800RMS each would pop the windshield out VERY far. Soon enough, cracks developed and the windsheild was gone. I think he threw the car away for the most part after that (but took the system out, of course!!!)
